Swiss studio Killmonday Games has made a name on Fran Bow, a game about a girl from the mental hospital who became a witness of a brutal murder. The developers aren’t going to stop there and have already announced a new project called Little Misfortune. It’s designed in the same style, both kiddish and grim, and resembles the studio’s debut in its sinister, desperate atmosphere.

The central character is an eight-year-old girl, Ramirez Hernandez, who has a rich imagination. She wants to find Eternal Happiness and give it to her mom. In her searches, she is accompanied by a mysterious Voice that guides Ramirez into an unknown land full of monsters and various dangers. Little Misfortune is described as an adventure allowing the player to interact with the surrounding world. You will often have to make difficult choices in different situations and sometimes you’ll find yourself inclined to the least obvious. Despite its dismal ambience, though, the game also leaves place for pranks and small crimes. According to the developers, a decision that’s 100% right is absent in most situations.

Both games are going to become part of one dim universe. Just like Fran Bow, Little Misfortune touches upon mature themes showing them in a bit naive, irresistibly charismatic manner. Delving deeper and deeper into this enigmatic, troubling yet hypnotizing world, you can’t help but wonder what kind of misfortune the fate has in store for the main heroine in the end and how soon you’ll find that out. But before you can unravel the intricate plot, you need to follow all of its twists and get familiar with the girl’s inner world to understand the events and their influence better. Set out on a creepy journey through Ramirez’ subconsciousness and help her finally find peace of mind playing Little Misfortune online!
