What can a little girl whose only close person in the whole world is her mother do to make her stop drinking and become happy again? Almost anything. Even venture into a magical world to bring her mom a piece of Eternal Happiness. Little Misfortune is a charming, funny and at the same time sinister story about Ramirez Hernandez, a self-contained eight-year-old who sets out on a dangerous journey through a gloomy land created by her own imagination. The game is reminiscent of Killmonday Games’ previous project, Fran Bow, where the heroine is also portrayed as trapped inside her own nightmare trying to get out of the mental asylum. Only this time the atmosphere isn’t so paranoid, but rather adventurous, with a slight tint of childish fright.

Ramirez isn’t traveling on her own – she has an imaginary friend she calls Mr. Voice who tells her where to go and warns her against possible dangers. On her way, the girl will meet various creatures that will be both good and bad. She’ll have a chance to pet a dog, a cat, a fox, a fish and even Kraken. She’ll also visit a pet cemetery with a spade, but we won’t tell you what she is going to do there and what is the spade for. The mystical land Ramirez is roaming is full of monsters trying to scare and kill her. She needs to find a way to deal with them is she wants to continue her journey. Our heroine will also encounter missing children and get to experience other no less exciting adventures.

The most intriguing thing is that the story isn’t fixed. It can change right along the way and take alternative endings depending on your choices. That makes you responsible for the outcome of your trip and obliges you to watch your every step and weight your every decision very carefully not to make a mistake. Are you ready to delve into this perilous yet so thrilling world inside Ramirez’ head? Then launch Little Misfortune and find out what lies there, in the mist covering the winding road…
